The Zulu War Diplomacy Variant

Download Realpolitik zip file

The Rules

The Standard rules of Diplomacy apply, with 15 SCs needed for victory. The start date is Spring 1978, just before the Anglo-Zulu War broke out historically. There are five powers, the British, AmaZulu, BaSotho, AmaXhosa and the Boers. This variant is currently play-testing for balance. If you would like to participate in such a game contact Dorian Love.

Special Rules

  • Only the British may build fleets, the other powers build only armies.
  • Fleets are built only in Cape Town
  • The Drakensberg form an impassable barrier so Griqualand East and Natal may not move to Basotholand, and visa versa.
