The South African MasterPoints System

Each eligible game is scored as follows:
  1. SC Count at end of game
  2. 10 Bonus Points if survived to end of game
  3. 1 Point for each round survived (maximum 10) if eliminated
  4. Solo Victory gets 34 SC Points, others none
  5. Variant SC Count is SC*n/7, where n is the number of players (maximum 7)
Players are accorded rankings based on the following criteria:
  1. All players are considered Novice in first game
  2. Intermediate - 50 points
  3. Senior - 150 points
  4. Veteran - 500 points
  5. Champion - 1 000 points or one Embassy Cup Tournament win
  6. Master - 2 000 points or three Embassy Cup Tournament wins
  7. Grand Master - 5 000 points or five Embassy Cup Tournament wins
Embassy Cup Tournaments are tournaments defined as part of the South African Grand Prix, currently: Schools rankings can be awarded in the same way for Schools events, eg. SA Schools, Gauteng Schools, KwaZulu-Natal Schools. The player then is afforded the title Junior Champion, Junior Master, etc. Scores are not cummulative, ie. School scores do not count towards Open category classifications.
